Old School

We would like to welcome everyone to our blog cum website for our metal label, Summers End Records. This shall serve as the umbrella label for our activities, which shall remain simply to release music which we enjoy personally.

Ultimately, the releases shall reflect our personal tastes as well as others (who would be so kind as to give us a heads-up to any band deemed good). For a start, we shall concentrate on our personal favourite genre i.e. death metal, black metal and thrash metal (in no particular order).

However, we must state that old-school (as our title above suggests) is the name of the game here, or simply we like how things sounded when they first started back in the early 90s (we're too young to go way back before that..). As such, death metal the Florida and Stockholm way is warmly welcomed within our label home. As for black metal, it's kind of a glut nowadays so it will remain highly selective to us unless it's something that truly catches our ear at first listen (unlikely but nonetheless possible..). Thrash/heavy metal is always welcomed, preferably the old-school Germanic style or those not unlike the old Mercyful Fate/King Diamond phase.

I hope readers will get into our choice of music and enjoy what we release as much as we do ourselves.
